4.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. It consists on the participation of the students in a collaborating entity/organisation, where they assume an active role in their formation through personal research, direct contact with reality, and experiences as part of a work group.  All of this promotes:

  • A strong motivation for the student
  • A gradual increase in facing difficulty
  • A connection between the theoretical abstraction and the practical reality
  • Self-detection of errors
  • Personal student autonomy
  • Acquisition of abilities and skills for information search and for research

4.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks: 

  • Activities carried out during the internship (adapted to the circumstances of both the collaborating entity and the student).
  • Follow-up by the tutor in the collaborating entity
  • Personalized tutorial sessions with the academic tutor
  • Autonomous work of the student in the elaboration of a midterm report, the final report and a presentation

4.3. Syllabus

There is no syllabus for this course.

The schedule for the internship shall be established in consensus between the collaborating entity and the academic tutor.  It shall be detailed in the Formative Project, following the instructions of section 3.2.

In accordance with current regulation, the internship shall be assessed as 25 hours per academic credit, up to a maximum of 500 hours of internships per academic year.

4.4. Course planning and calendar

The optional course "Internships" of this Master's degree corresponds to a maximum of 5 ECTS.

The distribution of the workload shall be agreed between the collaborating entity and the student. As a guideline, it should consider the following activities:

  • On-site work in the collaborating entity where the internship is carried out,
  • Personalized student-academic tutor tutorial sessions,
  • Evaluation tests, presentation and defense of the report,
  • Autonomous work by the student for the elaboration of the intermediate report, the final report and the preparation of the presentation.

The calendar of activities to be carried out during the internship shall also be agreed between the collaborating entity and the student, and with the approval of the academic tutor, depending on the formative project.
